It's been ages since I have logged in. Well, this can't go on if I want to note down significant bits of my life! Booo~~~ Note to myself: Please update more often! Anyway, I have decided to incorporate smileys
Yup! Of the 3, I wanted to visit Merlion and the sky tower! The sky tower is newly built last year, so it's a new add-in to Sentosa. Well, all I can say is, all couples should go have a ride there once! It's really romantic at night...where the tower is all dark and the lights below...plus there's music and the whole enclosure is air-conditioned. Super romantic. Don't take photos though...unless it's of yourself. Because at night the cameras really can't capture the lights that well, and since the whole tower revolves, so the photos just show lines and lines of lights. Like so duh.
To think of it, I think it will be damn romantic if a guy were to propose on that sky tower thing! Haha. And then he must carry a guitar, and serenade the girl, then end it with popping the question and the ring. So romantic sia...and it will be dark all around, with the night scene all around, and then nice pipe-in instrumental music in the background...lol. Okay lar, the guy must see the girl's reaction...so maybe a small yellow light at a discreet area can already. So romantic!!!
Don't think of doing this during the day...I think it will be super unromantic. Because at such a high altitude...all you will be worrying is whether the sun will shine into your eyes and make you blind. There are other venues for popping the question during the day at such high altitudes. In a restaurant perhaps? The area is rather cramp on the sky tower...it's just a row of seats and right in front is the window to look out. So everyone gets to sit and enjoy the view.
Photos later, when I get it from mr clement. Well, I have been gushing quite a bit about the Sky tower, the merlion and fort siloso tour was not bad too! The merlion had a small surprise when we visited it. We each got a gold coin when we entered, and then we were led to a place where there were 6 small merlions, each with a slot in their mouths. So we had to throw our coin into the slots, to get a card. And the card will say that we win either Gift A or Gift B. Well, between clement and I we got an A and a B, so we had 2 different gifts! There was this family of 4 who got 3 As and 1 B. Gift A was a "Merlion" keychain, and B was a Fan. But this fan has a thermometer and a compass on it. Very stylo mylo.
We visited The Merlion in the day, so of course, the sun was beating down on us (really very warm!) and we didn't stay for long also. Took a few shots of the scenery at the top and then we quickly retreated to the gift shop to blow air con. We were both sweating like crazy that day...because of the weather and the fact that we had to walk and walk. It was a good workout I guess.
Anyway the main event of the day that made us sweat non-stop was the Fort Siloso tour! The 2 of us actually visited that place first because it was raining when we reached Sentosa, so since we can't go to the sky tower or the Merlion, might as well go fort siloso. But we were so wrong! The sky had cleared up by the time we reached Fort Siloso, so well, the sun was shining brightly. We were contemplating to go sun-tan instead (we brought all our sun-tan stuffs along) but we thought the Siloso tour will be air-conditioned so we decided to go blow air-con first!
How wrong we were! Only the initial part of the tour was air-conditioned! That was the exhibits on the fall of Singapore. That reminded me of all those past years where I learnt history and had to come to Fort Siloso to look for info for projects. Hehe~ Anyway much of Fort Siloso has changed. The tour is even more fun now, because it's a self-guided tour whereby you go exploring on your own and take a look at how those army recruits stay in the past. A big eye-opener I guess. The last time I went Fort Siloso was probably when I was just 5 years old.
Anyway that tour was a killer! We climbed up climbed down, took lots of wacky photos and then everytime we were sweating too much, we just happened to find an exhibit that's held in an air-con room. LoL~ So just nice, we would take so many mini-breaks so that we can have some cool air. In the end we spent more than 2 hours there. Oh. And since the monorail is now defunct, the stations are turned into something else! The fort siloso station is now a gift shop, and above it, houses the wax museum. Part of the wax museum I mean, because inside is the surrendering of the Japanese during the WWII. That used to be in the wax museum, but now it's incorporated as part of Fort Siloso.
After the Fort Siloso, we went to makan at Delifrance (make use of the free drink coupon mah) and then we went to The Merlion! And after that we decided to tan for an hour plus, so that we can bathe after that. Both of us couldn't tolerate the sweaty sticky feeling we had from running around all day...so the best way is to take a bath. And so we tanned for a while at Tanjong Beach, and then went for a cool, refreshing bath!
After that we went to makan at Sakae Sushi (yes, they have Sakae there now). That's at the Fort Siloso Beach. The whole stretch is suddenly so happening...reminds me of Pasir Ris Park's Fisherman's Village. Much of the beach is still under construction, they have a new covered carpark there, and there's going to be the new Sentosa Express train station there too. Sentosa has changed a lot wor...very different from last year even.
And then after our dinner we went to the Sky tower! And that comes to the end of a wonderful fantabulous day with my darling. It's probably due to good planning...haha. So we ended our evening with a romantic ride up the skies! But hor, stupid clement was busy taking photos even though I told him to stop!
He refused to listen and insisted on capturing the scenery with his camera. Really cannot take any photos de...he doesn't believe me. Hmph~ But in the end I suggested that we ask the staff onboard to help us take photos. One sitting and one standing. So there's still a bit of the night sky behind us. So...it was still a little bit romantic lor.
That's the end of my recollection. Well, there had been a few unhappy events lately, but since this blog should be a happier one rather than a morbid one...and since I am relatively happy now, so I shall not write about my unhappiness. Hehehee~
Let's all try to be happy shall we? 15 days till the end of my attachment! Yayyy!
