Much to Update!!

Wooh...I haven't been blogging for almost a week! Heh. Let me see...

Okie the significant thing is that my PT sessions has ended...and up till even NOW, I'm still suffering from it. Geez. I don't understand why!!!

We did chest exercises this time. Although it's more suitable for the guys, the PT also asked me do as well. But he so cute, told me that he will tekan my boyfriend on my behalf so that he will know how much it hurts for ladies to go through PMS every month. LOL!!!

For the uninitiated, means having swollen and painful breasts lo.... :P

So the man got to do like 4 sets with increasing weight, while I did 3 sets! Yay!!

I forgot most of the exercises already la. Hahaha. This time was actually a 2-hr session because we were too lazy (and probably too sore as well!) to go back for another. Anyway our PT is so fully packed! So I think he must be happy to see the last of us also. Haha. On our last session he handed me my Personal Training Diary, inside which recorded the stuff we did for the past 2 sessions. His handwriting is so nice la...reminds me of the Disney font. Haha. Very unexpected for a guy. And he was very nice, telling us what we should look out on if we go to the gym in the future, as well as making us stretch each other in the correct manner. Before we left, he said to us, "Eat more protein la!!!" Damn cute. :P

So since we watched TMNT on Wednesday and we had no slots on Thursday, the man took leave on Friday (23rd March) and then we did a 2-hour session in the evening, 5-7pm!! Original plan was to do Wednesday and Saturday but because of the movie we cancelled Wednesday's session. Heh. Oh well. I think I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms from going gym. Hiakz. I would never expect that!! Maybe I just liked the fact that at least I'm going there with a focus and know what I'm doing ba...

Anyway after that we went to watch movie at Cathay Cineleisure! This time we watched Mr Bean on Holiday. Heh. I know it's lame, but then I just want to watch because I knew it will guarantee laughs. I want to laugh!! Hahaha. And laugh I did! I was laughing so hard and slapping the man's lap very hard. He was quite poor thing lo. Hee.

So that was the end of our gym day!!

Then on Saturday the man had to go attend his friend's wedding dinner, so we only met for tao huay!! He came down in the afternoon to fetch me, and we proceeded to Rochor Road Soya Bean for tao huay, and also takeaway some for my family. After that we went to Clementi's Macdonald's to satisfy my cuppaucino craving, before sending me home so that he could go for wedding which was at Grand Copthorne. I think I'm quite lucky, because it suddenly strike me that where got people so free, drive down from east to west, just to bring me go eat tao huay and then fetch me back. LoL. Anyway we went to eat tao huay because we must heed the PT's instructions: More protein!! Haha.

On Sunday I finally (must emphasize!) got to meet my JC babes. Aiyoyo. We more than 1 year never meet already!! Someone got boyfriend for more than 1 year also without our knowledge!! Haha. How time flies man. I think especially after everyone starts working we all get busier and busier. Oh well, this is part of growing up!!

Sang KTV (actually listened more) and gossiped and catched up a lot!! And darling HappieOstrich (as she likes to be known. :P) gave me a hilarious looking monkee!! Tee-Hee!! I will go take a photo of it and post it here. I love that monkee!!! Looks so funny and never fails to bring a smile to my face whenever I look at its bobbing head. Gal, you are simply the best man!!! (^_^)

So now other than my two cute little monkees I have another one!! But this one's sitting on my piano because I don't want to sleep with it and crush it. Hehehe. Its head bobs, so one day if I got my own car he's just gonna be in there! Heeee. But I still don't have a name for him. Yet. :P

Oh yah suddenly I realise I can imagine how this monkee must have been screaming at you with that cross-eyed smiley face like you mentioned in one of the comments of my past entries. Heh.

I think everyone is happy either with or without boyfriends. Heh. I'm also happy now, though I think I will be happier if I have a job. Haha. No income is very terok one leh... :P

And that was the end of my last weekend!! :P

I will talk about the week later. :) Must sleep! 3am liao!!!

PT - Round 2

Went for my 2nd training on Saturday (17th March)...with my arms still aching. In fact, they had been aching non-stop since that Wednesday I went!! Geez. So I pasted koyok on my arm and kena laughed at by my PT.

"Eat more protein la!! You paste 10 koyoks also no use one."

I know, but fact is, I don't have much protein-y stuffs lying at home. And all I can think of is tao huay and soyabean drink. Both of which, are inexistent at home. Heee.

Anyway since my arms were aching, so my PT say he will train the legs. And then he start saying "After today's session I make sure you go down the staircase also pain one. That one paste koyok will have no effect."

So baddd!!!

Then we did the leg-press (damn difficult!) and he increased the weight after every set. We did 4 sets of 20 each. Want to die. My maximum was 50kgs. So he said, this one is small thing la! Those expert people can do up to 3 times their body weight. Which means for my case I should be doing 150kg?! Siao ah...

Anyway that was supposed to work the thigh muscles or something.

And then after that we went to do some leg-lifts. As usual he will tell us what muscles we are training and the correct posture, but I wasn't listening. Haha. I too slack already...so kena arrow by him to start doing the machines first. The man got to stand there and rest and gloat. Bleah.

After that we did the bosu stuffs again, this time we must do half-squats on the bosu. It was easier when we had to stand on it and do the half-squat...I think I did like 2 sets of 20, and then he said, "let the dancing begin!" and then proceeded to flip the bosu over (so that the flat part is up and the round part is bottom).

Wah, this one ah, even stepping up is a big problem man. Haha. I cannot believe it. Like so ridiculous because I will have the tendency to fall over. Maybe because I have a fear of falling lo. Haha. Anyway so I finally managed to stand on it, and he wanted me to do the half-squat on the bosu! Wah biang. The bosu start swaying precariously left-right-left-right...like you doing those kind of on-the-spot jogging in a half-squat fashion. LoL. My PT tried to keep my balance but haha, too bad, I very soon fell off. All the while I was just whining non-stop. I think I am hopeless. Hahaha.

Luckily the man did better, so he managed to complete whatever was required of him to do. I was just grinning along. Heehee. And then after that we used 2 bosu, must do half-squats again, then must jump and half-squat (which I didn't do). All these for like 20 times /set and we did like 4 sets again.

Terok man. This time it felt like time just flew...mainly because we took so long to slowly do and then I kept whining at him. Heehee. Like so bad. ;p

So after that session I bathed and then went over to Mind's Cafe to meet my year 1 classmates for some games!!

We tried a few different games which I had been accustomed to at Settler's, so it was cool. Played "I'm the Boss!" which was damn fun because it's about investing and haggling and you learn that sometimes being too nice is no good lo!

After that we played telepath, a paired up game which we are supposed to write words associated with a given word and see how many of them matches. Simple game, but like my friend say, "Got to think! My brain is numb. LoL~" And then after that we played this funny game called Fish eat Fish...basically is just eating up each other's fish lo to see who will win. I won that game!! Yayyy.

And the last game we played was called Thurns and Taxis or something like that. Basically I'm in charge of a postal agency and must open routes for posting of letters or something. Haha. This one is a bit of strategy and all that...quite complicated in fact. But nevertheless it's quite interesting because seldom play games like that. Heh. Similar to Railroad Tycoon but it's a simpler version I might say.

So after that we all split up, and I met the man for dinner, which was Ajisen Ramen, because we both need protein. LoL. I think after Wednesday's session he's more worried about getting aches and pains. Haha.

Rambled around Bugis and I spent like close to a hundred bucks at Watson's. Yes, Watson's. Don't ask me how I do it but sometimes when you see there's so much to buy and it's on offer, you just let yourself lose. Haha.

We went for cuppa after that and then it's back home!!

Sunday, 18th March 2007

We met up again, after the outing with the girls kena cancelled last minute. Haha. He also kena cancelled on because his friend was having power-lunch that lasted like 5 hours or something and so couldn't meet up.

So we found ourselves at IKEA, the Queensway one, for meatballs for dinner, and after that we sorta hung out around IKEA. It's less crowded now, so me wonders if it's because of the enormous IKEA that's opened in Tampines the reason.

Anyway I've been to the one at Tampines, must say that it's much more accessible and spacious, compared to the Queensway one. And of course the restaurant there is exactly the same, just that they have got an interesting feature: A trolley to put your tray on when you buy food. It was the first time I saw something like that, so amazing!! No reason for your guy not to buy your share of food now! Hahaha.

And so we walked around the place, and then, in the search for more protein, decided that we shall venture to somewhere to find nice tao huay. Heh. Oh, we also dropped by Queensway shopping centre to get some exercise gear for myself, but after thinking about it and weighing the pros and cons I decided not to. Not as if I exercise very frequently ya...it's only now because of the PT and then we've got the free membership that's why lo.

As much as I'm very bowled over by the number of taut bodies and nice-looking exercise gear at the gym, I'm still very much relunctant to commit myself because I know I will be very lazy. Haha.

Okie so we went to look for tao huay!! And by the man's recommendation, it's called Rochor Road Soya Bean. Hmm...actually it's near peace centre/paradiz centre that stretch. Near a very nice Hainan Chicken Rice also. Haha. I was quite regretting having IKEA because I didn't know that it's so nearby the Chicken Rice. I love eating chicken rice, the soup and the gravy. Haha. Poor chickens....

So we found the place, and after driving round and round, finally found a carpark. Haha. Heng ah!! Walked a bit and then went to eat tao huay and egg tarts, and after that also bought some home for my mom and sis to try!!

I like egg tarts from there because the tart is a pastry-like crust and I like!! The egg tart itself is not very sweet and the egg is like egg-toufu, very tender. But my mom told me she doesn't like the egg because there's too little taste of the egg. Haha. Oh well. Different people different tastes!

Okie so after that we have to quickly return home since the man's gotta work, and I gotta bring food home.

It's a nice weekend. :)

Personal Trainer aka PT

PT aka Physical Torture.

I don't know how we got ourselves into this man...lol. Me and the man were lamenting about it as we walked towards the gym yesterday evening. Haha. I think he was suffering from fatigue, and I was suffering from an imbalance of hormones (aka mood SWINGS).

BUT! We still made our way there because of the very fact that it's been paid for and if we don't go it will be wasted. Haha. (I got a bit pissed when he said, "we don't go lo, just waste money lo! That's what we are good at what." Hmph~)

Actually money is a good motivating factor especially if you have signed up for a package with the gym. Sometimes it's like, might as well go since you already have got the package there that kind of thing. Haha.

Anyways. We met up with the PT, he started us with warmups on the bicycle while asking us what's our goal. Actually I have got no goal because it's a short-term thing, so the main aim is probably just to get acquainted with the machines. Oh, and gain some strength. I did the test and realised that I'm super weak at the arms. No wonder I couldn't bring in any clothes from outside. :(

So we started with shoulder press first. So the trainer start telling us about bad habits and the correct posture and how we should position our elbows and arms while doing it. Haha. I lifted 5 kg. And by the end of the first set my arms were already aching...can feel that the muscles are strained and all that. Geez. Then the trainer say must do another 2 more sets!! Fainted. LoL. Each set is like 16 times. By the 12th time will feel like dying and he will help to push it up. Haha.

I like my trainer because he is as nonsense as us so it makes everything more enjoyable. He likes to disturb me by purposely lost count on the reps and then when he asks me to hold he likes to go "3, 2, 2, 2, eeeeeeyaaaahhh....eh I forgot." So I will still be holding there. -_- And then I will whine at him before he say "Ok! Relax.."

So the next thing we did was some arm strengthening exercises. He did specify which muscles we were training but I forgot because all I can think of is my arms are damn pain la! Haha. Oh well. So we were supposed to hold dumbbells and lift them to shoulder level. Here the correct posture is to keep the arms and the hands in the same plane with the elbows slightly bent. To do that properly we must look into the mirror and gauge ourselves whether we are doing it correctly or not.

We did that 20 reps for 3 sets also. Then we proceeded to do crunches on a bosu. That one is like super interesting because the only place I do crunches on is on my bed. Haha. For the uninitiated BOSU actually stands for BOth Sides Utilized and it looks like this:

Pic taken from www.formulagfi.com/index.asp?loc=fullproduct&ID=1

So we have to do crunches on a bosu, and it was something like this:

Pic taken from www.cyclefit.ca/cyclefit.html

So we got to place the butt on the slope of the bosu and then lie down backwards to do the crunches. It's easy for the first set but the 2nd set onwards my trainer decided to make things more challenging, which is to make our feet rest on a ball rather than on the flat ground. Things are a bit different because other than just balancing your weight on the bosu you gotta watch your feet and not let the ball roll away!!

I must say it works your abs very, very hard. Right now my abs are aching away. Haha. Maybe if I do this long enough I might have abs like the lady in the picture. Ho ho.

My PT also shared the importance of doing crunches the right way. He had a client who did it on hard ground and landed in ICU not once, but twice. That's because doing on hard ground hurts the spine and caused a slipped disc, hence the need to go ICU. Serious case man, I mean, if you exercise to the point you ended up in hospital, then something must be really wrong.

So it's important to find a suitable place rather than just make do like what a lot of people do sometimes. I do too. The bosu is good because it helps support your back when you lean backwards, just like how our back arches. But I just found out that one bosu is actually quite expensive!! Gee.

Then we also did some exercises with the fitball, which is to train our abs again, as well as breathe using the correct technique. Quite interesting because while I could balance myself and lift my butt outwards, there's no way I could move the ball at all. My sense of balance is not there, or in other words, my strength is not enough so I have got no control of my ball. So the trainer tried to push my ball forward and backwards, and I almost fell. Heh.

Okie then after that we did another machine, something to train the biceps (known as the mouse on the arm!). The same thing again, posture, techniques, bad habits. Haha. Oh but he mention that we have to be careful of our wrist because if we use our wrist to pull we will definitely hurt them. So he would supervise us to ensure that the correct techniques are used.

Good huh! And that was the end of our training (3 sets of 15 reps, no less!). Today I am aching like hell all over, but it's concentrated on the arms, and even my chest. LoL. And definitely my abs.

Doesn't help that I've got cramps to come along for the ride...so to say, my whole body is in pain. Boo.

Tomorrow will be better I hope. Haha. At least, no more cramps? Heh.

My next training is this Saturday. Don't know how am I going to recover on time for it. Haha. :P
